Perth on track to record wettest June for five years

Staff ReporterEastern Reporter

PERTH’S week of wet weather has begun with steady rain in the metro area on this morning.

While a severe weather warning for much of the WA coast was cancelled at 2am, Perth still copped a respectable 10.8mm of rain.

Bickley recorded 23mm while Pearce and the Swan Valley got 12.8 and 12.6mm respectively.

The overnight rain leaves Perth on track to record its wettest June for five years by the end of the week.

The city has already had 90.8mm so far for the month and only needs another 18.6mm to be the wettest June since the 140.8mm of rain received in 2012.

Rain is also forecast for Perth for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
