Ben SmithEastern Reporter

PERTH Underground Station’s main exit is set to be severely limited for six months, after Transperth announced the Murray Street exit would undergo refurbishment.

From today, two escalators under the station’s InfoCentre will be closed for approximately six months to replace the existing escalators.

The stairs will also be limited during this time, while a number of ticket and add value machines will also be out of use during this time.

Transperth have advised passengers to consider alternative exits, such as the 140 William St exit which leads to Globe Lane.

Work is currently ongoing at the platform’s centre to upgrade the escalator running from the Joondalup and Mandurah lines, which will be out of service until late-2018.
