Perth weather: thunderstorm tipped for metro area after hot day

THE Bureau of Meteorology has predicted showers or a possible thunderstorm after a hot Perth day today.

The temperature is forecast to reach a top of 36 degrees, after a very hot, sunny morning.

The Bureau has predicted a 40 per cent chance of showers or a thunderstorm late this afternoon or this evening.

Easterly winds will prevail at 20 to 30km/h, becoming light in the morning before switching west to south-westerly by the middle of the day.

Weekend weather is set to be near perfect, with a top of 28 degrees and 30 degrees for Saturday and Sunday respectively.
