Perth Yes Festival draws more than 1000 people

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

WITH 20 days left to return marriage equality surveys, more than 1000 people attended the Yes Festival on Saturday in support of same sex marriage.

Members of the LGBTQI community and allies converged at Russell Square, which hosted several stalls and performances by Abbe May and the Gay and Lesbian Singers of WA.

The rally, attended by police, was circled by a vehicle towing a large “vote no” sign but no incidents occurred.
