A 25-year-old man is in hospital with serious facial injuries after an alleged assault at a Highgate bar overnight.
Police say the man was walking through the Beaufort Street bar at 12.40am this morning when the incident took place.
A 26-year-old Belmont man, who did not know the victim, allegedly punched him in the face and then hit him in the face twice more with his knee.

The 26-year-old man was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on September 6.
