Police charge man after fatal crash in Perth on Monday morning

WA Police have charged a 20-year-old man over a fatal traffic crash in Perth on Monday morning.

The crash involved a green Holden ute, a rubbish truck and the truck’s driver, who was working outside the vehicle.

The 48-year-old driver, a City of Perth employee, died in Royal Perth Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

The 20-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter, failing to provide assistance to a victim after a traffic incident, and being a novice driver exceeding a zero blood alcohol content.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday 2 February 2017.
