Police investigate fatal crash in Tuart Hill

POLICE are investigating a fatal crash in Royal Street, Tuart Hill.

About 5.10pm, a dark grey 1993 model Nissan Skyline was travelling east along Royal Street when it struck  the brick wall of a home at the corner of Royal and Wattle streets.

The driver, a 50-year-old man from Balcatta, received critical injuries in the crash and died at the scene.

A 17-year-old male passenger from Tuart Hill received minor injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

Major Crash investigators would like to speak to the driver of a silver vehicle towing a silver trailer that was travelling along Royal Street near Wattle Street around the time of the crash.

The driver of the silver vehicle, or anyone who saw the crash or the Nissan Skyline prior to the crash, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.

One resident said he’d heard acceleration and braking before the crash.

“He was heading east on Royal Street toward Wanneroo Road,” the resident said.

“I went up to the vehicle and called to the driver ‘can you hear me?’ but he was unresponsive.”
