CITY of Perth commissioners will consider an application for a 27-level mixed-use development that will include social and affordable housing on Pier Street, Perth, on Tuesday.
The Department of Communities, which owns the land at 195 Pier Street, proposes to partner with developer Peet Limited to build 184 apartments, of which 30 per cent will be either social or affordable housing, on 1841sq m of the site leaving the remaining land vacant for future development.
Plans also include a café-restaurant, community shared space and 183 car parking bays.
However, City administration has recommended refusal for the development in its current form because it is non-compliant with plot ratio.
The WA Planning Committee has asked the City for comment on the plans that will be determined by the City of Perth Development Assessment Panel.
