MENORA Gardens, an RSL care centre, was the scene of a moving Remembrance Day ceremony on Friday.
The Military Brotherhood’s Tony McDermott, an Iraq veteran with 39 years service in the Air Force, paid tribute to the veterans in the audience.
“There are many veterans here today who did it a lot tougher than I did,” he said. “I thank you for your service to this country.”
Resident chaplain Willie Button said: “We must remember those who have come before us in service to our nation. Let us make a commitment to live up to the standards they set.”
