COMMUNITY radio station RTRFM’s annual subscription drive is back on the air.

Radiothon will be held from August 16 to 25 and encourage people to put their money where their ears are.

It kicks off next Friday at the Bird Mess Hall with the Early Birds party with DJ Aslan Will Bixler and Girlname and food from Toast Face Grillah.

There will be special guests and live performances in the RTRFM studios during the subscription drive.

Everyone who subscribes during Radiothon 2019 and pay their pledges by September 30 will go in the running to win prizes, including the RTRFM Golden Ticket which gives free entry to all gigs at The Rosemount, Mojos and Rock Rover for a year and free entry to all other Cool Perth Nights gigs throughout the year.

Events and marketing manager Chris Wheeldon said Radiothon comprised 30 per cent of the station’s annual income.

“It is this support that makes sure we can continue to make the independent radio which is an essential part of a vibrant local culture and diverse media landscape,” he said.

“RTRFM is funded by local people who believe it’s important to hear different music, local stories, and diverse voices on their airwaves.”
