SUSPENDED Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi, current and former Perth councillors, and former chief executive Martin Mileham are expected to face public grillings in August as part of the inquiry into the City of Perth.
The public hearings will also include other members of the executive leadership group.
The hearings will follow months of private examinations which are scheduled to continue throughout July, looking at the lead-up to the suspension of Perth City Council in March 2018 and subsequent appointment of commissioners.
The inquiry opened to the public in November last year, and in the seven months since, has privately examined over 70 witnesses including ratepayers, business owners, current and former City employees, service providers, elected officials and others, including government representatives and members of the community.
More than four million documents have been gathered as well as over 110 electronic devices.
“The work of the inquiry has been more complex and time-consuming than expected,” a spokeswoman said.
“Public hearings will provide an opportunity to see the extent of the systemic, organisational and individual failures and dysfunctions at the City of Perth.”
