MT Lawley Senior High School students have impressed judges of the Young Originals art exhibition held at Edith Cowan University.

Five artists from the school are finalists in the exhibition after curators sifted through 150 entries from more than 30 WA schools.

The annual exhibition features aspiring young artists and designers from years 7 to 12 enrolled in WA public schools.

The challenge promotes excellence in visual arts across computer generated works, graphic design, printmaking, photography, painting, sculpture, video art and textiles.

Students were asked to supply a digital photograph of their artwork, which was judged by a panel of professional artists.

The entries were narrowed to 69 works that will feature in this year’s exhibition.
