SCITECH chief executive Alan Brien has announced he will retire after 17 years in the role.
Mr Brien said it had been a privilege to lead Scitech.
“Scitech has been a wonderful opportunity for me, it’s been a varied and challenging career,” he said.
“I am extremely proud of our achievements to date and look forward to seeing the development of a New Scitech at Education Central.”
Mr Brien will remain as CEO until his replacement is appointed.
Scitech board chair Tony Joyner said that the organisation had benefitted greatly from Mr Brien’s leadership and passion for science.
“Under his leadership, Scitech has grown and developed enormously to become one of the world’s leading interactive science centres,” he said.
“On behalf of current and past board members we would like to thank Alan for the enormous contribution he has made.”
The board has appointed Hudson Executive’s Perth office to conduct an international search to find a new CEO.
