RENOWNED local butcher Vince Garreffa has landed the top honour at the WA Seniors Awards.
Mr Garreffa took out the metropolitan Lifetime Achievement award in recognition of his multimillion dollar fundraising for Lifeline WA.
The Inglewood butcher dedicates more than half of his time to the cause and has raised $3m for the organisation.
Seniors and Ageing minister Mick Murray presented the awards on Saturday to celebrate the culmination of Seniors Week.
“Vince Garreffa’s fundraising efforts are quite remarkable and set a wonderful example of the value helping others can bring to the community, and indeed the individual,” he said.
“The Seniors Awards do a wonderful job of demonstrating the benefits of positive, active ageing, and remind everyone that age is not a barrier to achieving great things.”
