FIVE residents against a proposed small bar in Mt Lawley raised concerns about noise, parking and anti-social behaviour at a recent City of Vincent meeting.
The residents said they were concerned about an abundance of small bars in the area.
The City rejected the small bar proposed for the corner of Chatsworth Road and Beaufort Street.
Councillor Joshua Topelberg said he was concerned the scale of the northern facade of the plan would not sit well in the area and he likened it to a large shed.
Mayor John Carey said he believed the applicants were sincere in their application but there would be significant impact on the residents.
A City report cited lack of compliance with parking and potential of adverse effect on residents as reasons for refusal.
