THE State Government has approved extended trading for two public holidays.

On the WA Day holiday (June 4) and Queen’s Birthday (September 24), general retail shops in the Perth Metro area will be able to open from 8am until 6pm.

An application for additional trading hours was received from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of WA.

Trading during period is discretionary for retailers but the extension will now give them the option to open earlier or close later depending on the demand from their customers.

Further information on retail trading hours is available on the Consumer Protection website https://www.commerce.wa.gov.au/consumer-protection/retail-trading-hours.
