‘Stinkbomb’ forces delays at Perth Children’s Court

Greig JohnstonEastern Reporter

THE Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES)  was called to the Perth Children’s Court this afternoon after what is believed to be a ‘stinkbomb’ was let off inside a courtroom.

A DFES officer told Community News they were called to the court because of the smell of gas.

Officers inside described the smell of hydrogen sulphide, a relatively harmless gas which smells of rotten eggs and is commonly used in stinkbombs.

“We’ve narrowed the smell down to one room,” the officer said.

He said the stinkbomb may have been a ploy to delay proceedings inside the court.
