The man behind La Cholita on William Street and, until recently, Harvest in Fremantle, has just opened his newest restaurant Pleased to Meet You.

He said the location for the casual diner serving street style food was perfect.

‘It is pretty rare that you’ll get a site and the city will move to you,’ he said.

Mr Nolan was referring to the Perth City Link, which will connect the city to Northbridge.

He predicted Roe Street, currently with a number of empty buildings, would explode with hospitality and shops.

‘I see this area booming in the future,’ he said. ‘There is not a lot of Roe Street at the moment, apart from Bonsai and a few Chinese restaurants, but it is about to explode.’

Mr Nolan said being near the State Theatre Centre and Perth Arena was boosting patronage.

‘It’s really good that people can experience something they wouldn’t normally do and see a show as well,’ he said.

Mr Nolan said a trip to the USA last year had influenced the menu. He has teamed up with Harvest head chef Duvaldi Marneweck and Whose Your Mama manager Lisa Lillico.
