One student from each of the seven primary schools in Ms Evangel’s electorate represented their schools, including Mt Hawthorn, North Perth, Highgate, Kyilla, Aranmore Catholic, Sacred Heart and Trinity College, in the speaking competition.

Ms Evangel said the event showed the extraordinary talent of students in her electorate.

‘What an amazing event it was,’ Ms Evangel said.

‘I congratulate all students on their magnificent speeches and outstanding presentation.

‘Collectively they walked away with $3000 in prize money for their schools and $150 dinner vouchers for each to enjoy.’

North Perth Primary School’s Charlotte Bridge, who spoke on ‘Sport ” It’s not all about winning’, and Trinity College’s Willem Lamers, who spoke on ‘Entomophagy ” Are they really creepy crawlies’, shared first prize.
