ABOUT 70 children from two Perth primary schools, including Highgate school, held the Torch of Peace at Hyde Park last week.

The event was part of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness Home Peace Run, a global torch relay featuring runners from 16 nations. The annual relay carries the message of international friendship and understanding to more than 70 countries.

The torch left Canberra in April and will travel around Australia.
