About 200 people attended the rally, one of many held across the country after the National Union of Students called for a day of national action.

Greens Senator Scott Ludlam said he was pleased to see so many people turn out to fight for education.

‘I’m glad to see such large numbers of people here, there’ve been big demonstrations right around the country and it’s good to see Perth people putting in a good show,’ Mr Ludlam said.
