COOLBINIA Primary School students pulled on their gloves to collect 3.5kg of rubbish for Clean Up Australia Day on March 4.

Mt Lawley MLA Michael Sutherland joined 20 students to tidy the school grounds.

“Coolbinia Primary School focuses on environmental issues and is proud of the school’s appearance,” Mr Sutherland said.

“However, it is always great to remind the school community that vigilance is needed to keep our surroundings clean.

“It was great to see the students getting involved and taking pride in how clean their school looked.”

Year 3 student Chloe said it was important to collect litter to reduce pollution and save animals’ lives.
