Ms Jeffery, proprietor of Pierrot’s Hair Studio on Beaufort Street, won the AVEDA Colour Harmony Awards after competing for the national title in Sydney.
The contestants had three hours to create a neo-goth fashion, with Ms Jeffery styling her model using dark reds and violet colours.
‘I have had salons for the last 30 years and I have been in the industry longer than that so I was chuffed by the fact that at my age and with my time in the industry I am still able to beat the young ones,’ she said.

Ms Jeffery said later this year she would travel to America where she would be introduced as the Australian winner of the competition at an AVEDA event.
