SUPER senior Phyllis Barras lives each day to the fullest.
The 94-year-old Menora resident takes part in Tai Chi twice a week, plays nine holes of golf a week and keeps her mind healthy by playing bridge.
A keen sports fan, Mrs Barras said she began Tai Chi to help with her balance.
“I found out about Tai Chi through my friend Janet,” she said.
“There was an open day and she asked for people to come and have a look at it and so I started.
“I just love the movement.
“I’m not much good on my feet but the movement from my upper body is quite good – it’s nice and gentle.”
Mrs Barras said the secret to living a long healthy life was to just breathe.
“I’ve been active all my life – I’ve played sports, tennis and golf, it’s all about being healthy,” she said.
Mrs Barras’ friend Janet Maltman said her neighbour was an inspiration to many including her.
“She is our Tai Chi poster girl,” Ms Maltman said.
“She is an all-round inspiration.”
