The specialist language school is offering Tuesday afternoon Japanese classes for students attending local primary schools.

Head of Languages Grace Cost said the classes were being run to gauge interest in the subject to determine if it will be added to the school’s curriculum.

Year 11 students currently study a certificate two in applied language (Japanese).

The school already offers Italian, French, Chinese (Mandarin), Indonesian and German.
