Terry Tyzack guards among best in WA

The team of Jacob Gunzberg, Sam Stacy, Scott Chilcott and Gabrielle Goddard earned 45 points in the challenge.

The Fremantle Leisure Centre team won the event, scoring 48 points.

The challenge comprises four tests, with competitors required to tow manikins, race between and under obstacles and administer CPR and first aid.

Royal Lifesaving WA community relations director Greg Tate said the challenge highlighted the skills of lifeguards.

‘The WA public can rest assured that when participating in aquatic activity at our major swimming pools, they are being supervised by Australia’s best lifeguards,’ he said.
