Natalie Donovan is the brains behind fashion label Wild Horses and she will display her clothing and accessories at the Sunday Best Market this weekend.

"This is the first market PFF have held and this is quite consumer-based," Ms Donovan said.

The mother of two said buyers could expect "edgy, minimal and chic" items from her stall.

"I have kept things pretty safe in the past but now Im on top of the cut, shape and fit I want to really amp it up," she said.

Ms Donovan, who works from her home studio in Fremantle, said she had always been interested in fashion since she dressed up dolls as a child.

"It was when I had my child seven years ago that I decided to start the business," she said.

"My first festival was in 2012 and it has progressed and changed in a good way."

Ms Donovan and Jonte Pike, of Jonte Design, will both display their creations at the Sunday Best Markets at the WA Museum this weekend.

Perth Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said she would be visiting the market, which will feature stalls of clothing, accessories, skincare and home wares from local designers.

"Im looking forward to some cute, well-priced items and it will be a chance to pick up some knick-knacks," she said.

Ms Scaffidi said it was one of the City's most exciting events because it championed new creators.

"It's about focusing on the creativity and production in our city by some amazing talent," she said.

Ms Scaffidi classed her mayoral fashion as "contemporary classic" while she enjoyed a more casual personal style.

"My weekend style is grungy but fun," she said.

"If I put my glasses on and don't do my hair you wouldn't recognise me.".

The festival starts on September 15 and closes with a Wheels and Dollbaby extravaganza starring international model Dita Von Teese on September 20.
