This Easter give blood, not just chocolate

The Red Cross Blood Service is calling for more donations in the lead-up to the Easter long weekend and Anzac break.

Spokeswoman Jessica Willett said 500 people were needed to fill appointments at the Perth Blood Donor Centre, particularly over the Easter Sunday and Monday holidays.

‘Just an hour of your time this Easter could mean a lifetime to someone else,’ she said.

Pat Sanders recently made her 150th donation and will donate blood products for Easter.

After starting to donate in the 1970s, Ms Sanders has since encouraged her daughters and granddaughter to also donate.

‘There is nothing scary or painful about it,’ she said.
