A BOY (16) was among three people who allegedly stole jewellery worth about $30,000 from a West Leederville home about 2pm on February 26.

Senior Sergeant Brendan Moore said police considered the boy to be a “prolific offender”.

He said a Blencowe Street homeowner was in the house when the thieves entered by a rear door.

CCTV cameras in the area provided police with pictures of the intruders.

Two days later, police arrested two of the alleged thieves after a car crash in Midland.

A Seville Grove man (21), was charged with driving a stolen car without a licence.

A girl was charged with receiving stolen property and fraud after she allegedly tried to sell stolen items at Cash Converters in Armadale.

Sgt Moore said the boy, considered a “high priority juvenile offender” escaped from the crash but was identified by officers monitoring CCTV in the Perth CBD and arrested on March 2.

A significant amount of stolen property from the Blencowe Street burglary had been recovered.

The boy was charged with three counts of aggravated burglary, stealing a motor vehicle and stealing and will appear at Perth Children’s Court on March 24.
