Three police officers stood aside after magistrate criticises their testimony

THREE WA Police officers have been stood down from operational duty pending an investigation by the Internal Affairs Unit.

The three constables were the subject of criticism by a Magistrate who took exception with their testimony during the prosecution of two people accused of assaulting police.

The testimony was given in a Perth court on October 10.

After a review of the court case transcripts and vision of the incident, a fresh investigation by the Internal Affairs Unit has been launched.

The officers have been stood down pending the outcome of the investigation.
