RESIDENTS on Shakespeare Street Leederville are gearing up for their first Garage Sale Trail.

About eight houses are locked in for the day on October 22 from 10am to 3pm, but organiser Sue Eslick hopes to sign up some more.

“We do activities together as neighbours; we have an annual street dinner,” she said.

Ms Eslick said there would be a range of items for sale.

“There will be bric-a-brac, a plant stall to buy or swap plants, homemade baked goods such as a cakes, and jams and pickles.

“We have a small orchard so there will be plenty of oranges.”

Another communal garage sale is being held nearby on Bourke Street from 8.30 am to 11.30am that will feature pancakes and jazz.

More than 10,000 garage sales will take place around the country, with more than two million pre-loved treasures expected to be up for sale.
