WA’s 2015 Top Baby Names Released

THE letter ‘O’ was the clear winner when it came to baby names in WA last year.

Olivia and Oliver secured top spot in the annual list, released today by Attorney General Michael Mischin.

Mr Mischin said list, from the from the Western Australian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, showed 248 boys were named Oliver last year – the second year in a row the name had claimed top spot.

“Olivia again claimed the number one spot, with 206 baby girls bearing that name, the same position it occupied in 2013 before dropping to fourth in 2014,” he said.

Baby names also varied in regional areas, with Jack and Isabelle taking out pole position in the Wheatbelt/Mid-West region.

New entries to the top 10 names for 2015 are Mason, Lachlan and Ruby.
