Toy library grows

The facility has just been awarded a $13,862 Lotterywest grant to buy new toys and furniture.

As well as dress-ups, children will be able to play with Montessori toys with educational benefits, mini kitchens, work benches and musical instruments.

The money will also allow the library to trial low-cost hire of child-sized tables and chairs for birthday parties. Users of the community-run library can start borrowing toys for less than $1 a week and can use up to 10 toys at a time.
