The lights turned green and the Prado, which was the second vehicle at the lights, drove forward.

It is unclear if the pedestrian was holding or leaning on the car, or if he was caught on the body of the car, but he was dragged into the intersection and fell to the ground.

The man, 26, received serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital.

The Toyota Prado continued on and it is not known if the driver realised what had occurred.

Inquiries are continuing and police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident, or the vehicle and pedestrian prior to the accident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online.
