Triple break for charity golfers

More than 100 golfers played in the WA Ladies Charity Day on May 8, with 100 more attending lunch after at the WA Golf Club.

The fundraising day raised $5000 each for Breastcare WA, The Centre for Cerebral Palsy and the Arthritis Association WA.

WA Golf Club Ladies president Irene Street said each charity was close to the hearts of members. ‘Breastcare in particular is very dear to our hearts at this club as we have had a lot of ladies who, especially in the last year or two, have been diagnosed with breast cancer,’ she said.

She said the fundraising event had been held at the club for at least 30 years, with a legacy of charity days at the club spanning 60 years.

This year’s event auctioned a British Open flag signed by Phil Mickelson.
