Bridge allegedly smashed into the back of the family’s parked car on the side of Brookton-Corrigin Road at Bulyee about midnight on Sunday.

Father Leroy Dimer, 27, had earlier left his family to walk 28 kilometres to get petrol.

The three children remain at Perth Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Bridge was granted bail with conditions but must first provide a personal undertaking of $10,000 and a $5000 surety.

He is due back in court on September 18.
