A WA truck driver accused of dangerous driving causing the deaths of a mum and her 10-year-old son, and injuries to three other children was granted bail in a Perth court today.
Carl Allan Bridge (45), faced Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning the deaths of Amy Louise Slater, 26, and her 10-year-old son Leroy Dawson.
He was also charged with dangerous driving offences related to the woman’s other children – two sons aged five and eight, and a three-year-old girl.
Bridge allegedly smashed into the back of the family’s parked car on the side of Brookton-Corrigin Road at Bulyee about midnight on Sunday.
Father Leroy Dimer, 27, had earlier left his family to walk 28 kilometres to get petrol.
The three children remain at Perth Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
