The 48-year-old man was reported to have been struck by a utility driven by a 20-year-old man while working outside the garbage truck he was driving at about 1.20am on Monday morning.

“The City will continue to support the staff member’s family during this tough time, as well as offering support and counselling services to colleagues,” a City of Perth statement read.

“The family has called for privacy at this time, which the City will respect.”
