Julian WrightEastern Reporter

NANCY Caccamo wears her trekkie heart proudly on her sleeve.

The Tuart Hill resident has been a Star Trek fan childhood and is brimming with excitement for this month’s Oz Comic Con at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, where she volunteers regularly.

“I watch re-runs of the show on television every day,” she said.

She began volunteering at geek hub Oz Comic Con in 2012 at the Adelaide show, which has given her the opportunity to meet with some of her favourite Star Trek stars.

“I met Marina Sirtis who plays Deanna Troi in the Next Generation series, she is a beautiful lady,” she said.

“I also met William Shatner, the original James T Kirk; he came to the first Comic Con here in Perth.

“They’re here to have fun and chill out.

“We are still waiting for Sir Patrick Stewart to come, that’s our main goal.”

Ms Caccamo said as a volunteer she is posted to a different section each year, but she has enjoyed each one.

“We get different areas every year: merchandise, photo booth, autographs,” she said.

“It’s been fun I will keep going, that’s what it’s all about having fun and meeting new people.”

Guests at this year’s event include Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina, The Teenage Witch) and Brian O’Halloran (Clerks).
