POLICE have charged a Balga man (30) and a Cloverdale man (28) over separate burglaries in North Perth.

It will be alleged the tickets were taken during a burglary at Ballajura News newsagency on January 15.

The man was charged with two counts each of burglary and stealing and cultivating cannabis, and he will reappear in court at later date.

The Cloverdale man allegedly took a jewellery box and was holding a screwdriver when he was disturbed by occupants of a Claverton Street, North Perth home about 3pm on December 22 last year.

“The occupants heard a noise and went to investigate, and it will be alleged they found him in the lounge with a jewellery box and the screwdriver, before he fled,” Senior Sergeant Julie Foley said.

Police inquiries led to the man’s arrest when he was charged with burglary.

He will appear at Perth Magistrates Court on February 17.
