Uber driver charged with indecently assaulting female passenger

A 28-year-old Uber driver has been charged with indecent assault over an incident that occurred in April.

At about 2.15am on Saturday April 22, a woman in her 30s was collected by an Uber driver in Northbridge.

During the trip the driver allegedly stopped the vehicle and indecently assaulted the woman.

She managed to get out of the car and look for help.

A 28-year-old Nollamara man has been charged with unlawful and indecent assault and deprivation of liberty.

He is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court on Monday July 17.

Police have notified Uber management and the Department of Transport of the arrest.
