Urban art class free to youth

Places are limited for the free City of Vincent workshops, which will be held at Oxford Street Reserve Skate Park.

Daek said street art workshops across Perth were the only opportunity for people to learn the skills.

"They will learn how to use spray cans properly and drawing techniques " how to go about constructing a piece of street art," he said.

"There is nowhere else to go to learn it except workshops. They don't teach it at schools."

Daek's students will create their artwork on the wall of the Oxford Street Reserve Skate Park for the public to enjoy.

Vincent community development officer Bek Slavin said the workshops would coincide with National Youth Week from April 10 to 19.

"National Youth Week will be bringing young people together," Ms Slavin said.

"It gives them a voice and sense of empowerment."
