Mr Doy’s role, one of two to be added to the City’s community development team, is to drive economic, retail and ‘place making’ strategies in urban villages.

Mayor John Carey said he saw the roles as champions of the local town centres such as North Perth, Beaufort Street and Leederville.

‘They will be developing with everything, not only making them places that people love to visit, but also tackling challenges like empty shop fronts,’ he said.
