V8 Supercars veteran Craig Lowndes announces retirement

HOLDEN veteran Craig Lowndes has announced he’ll retire from full-time racing at the end of the 2018 Supercars season.

The 44-year-old announced his decision on Friday at the Townsville 400, confirming this year would be his last in the championship.

Lowndes’ storied career has involved three Supercars championships, six Bathurst 1000 victories and 106 race wins from over 650 starts.
