PHILANTHROPIST and butcher Vince Garreffa has become the first patron of Inglewood on Beaufort (IOB).

At the recent AGM, the committee appointed the outgoing and inaugural chairman as patron of the community group he formed, to recognise his pioneering role and the donations of food and staff time at Mondo Butchers in the progress of IOB initiatives.

New chairman Damien Giudici said that in 2018, IOB would continue successful events such as the Monday Night Markets and Festival in the ‘Wood and had plans to rejuvenate and upgrade a couple of sites, including Tirza Court and Dove House, with murals, seating, landscaping and lighting.

Mr Giudici said IOB wanted to establish a Community Garden as well as a Monster Hunt game and literary quotes in the Inglewood Town Square.

IOB will also work with Maylands MLA Lisa Baker and Mt Lawley MLA Simon Millman to reduce the speed limit on Beaufort Street, Inglewood to 40km/h.
