Violence erupts in Northbridge

UPDATE: A Mandurah man (29) has been charged after a man and woman were hit with bottles to the head during a fight in Northbridge overnight.

Perth detectives say the fight broke out about 4am on Sunday near the intersection of Lake and Francis streets.

A woman, aged in her 20s, was struck in the head with a glass bottle, and a man, in his 30s, was struck in the head with a thrown bottle.

Police were in the vicinity and arrested the Mandurah man.

The injured man and woman were treated by St John Ambulance officers and taken to hospital.

The Mandurah man was charged with acts or omissions causing bodily harm or danger to any person. He remains in custody and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow (August 26).
