Volunteers in full bloom

Volunteers and the City of Perth parks and landscapes services team last week planted a red ‘V’ garden using petunias at the Causeway entrance into the city. The ‘V’ is the international symbol for volunteering.

It is hoped the 1200 flowers bloom in time for National Volunteer Week between May 12 to 18 to recognise the efforts of more than 600,000 volunteers in WA.

Volunteering WA chief executive Mara Basanovic said the planting would provide creative recognition of the work of volunteers.
