WA Museum and Royal WA Historical Society winners at Museums and Galleries National Awards

THE WA Museum and Royal WA Historical Society were rewarded at last month’s Museums and Galleries National Awards in Brisbane.

Yurlmun: Mokare Mia Boodja (Returning to Mokare’s Home Country) and Lustre: Pearling and Australia National Tour at the WA Museum won the Indigenous Project or Keeping Place and Temporary or Travelling Exhibition categories respectively.

The Royal WA Historical Society was highly commended in the Temporary or Travelling Exhibition section for its Western Land: a journey of discovery and rediscovery exhibition.

The exhibition, which tells the story of WA from 50,000 years of Aboriginal life through to the present, includes an Exploration Trail activity and Discovery Drawers and is open during the school holidays.
