WA needs more cops, better stations: union

WESTERN Australia’s police union is demanding the hiring of more officers and station upgrades amid safety fears for regional cops.

WA Police Union president Harry Arnott says officers have been attacked and their cars broken into because of security shortcomings at regional stations.

The union also wants mental health resilience training across the force and says this can’t be achieved without more officers being hired.
