Staff ReporterEastern Reporter

The 18-piece WAAPA Big Band will play jazz hits by artists including Duke Ellington, Fletcher Henderson, Cab Calloway and Louis Armstrong.

The free concert, presented in collaboration with the City of Stirling, will also feature the school’s contemporary music students playing music varying from R&B to pop rock.

City of Stirling Mayor Giovanni Italiano said he encouraged local residents to take a picnic down to the event and enjoy emerging musicians perform.

‘This is the eighth year the City and WAAPA have joined forces to bring WAAPA in the Park to the community,’ he said.
