A PERTH-filmed web series starring Australian screen legend Debra Lawrance will have its world premiere in Perth in July.
The five-episode Calling, which chronicles a mother/daughter relationship via their telephone conversations, will screen during the Get Your Shorts On program as part of Revelation Perth International Film Festival.
Writer/Producer/Director Miley Tunnecliffe, from Fremantle, said she enjoyed exploring that particular relationship in her work.

READ NOW“To explore it in web series form was interesting to me,” she said.
“I spend a lot of time in Melbourne, Sydney and LA so a lot of my own relationship with my mum is over the phone
“All women are either a mother or a daughter.”
Tunnecliffe said the female-centric production came together swiftly and was filmed within the City of Vincent because it was “a filmmaking hub”.
“I am relieved to show it,” she said.
“I wrote it in November, it was funded in December and filmed in January/February – we had to break up the shoot.
“We were very lucky to have Debra Lawrance (Home and Away) come on board, she is a professional and perfect for the role.”
Get Your Shorts On is on Wednesday, July 11 at Luna Leederville.
